Mothers Day Silver Shells Workshop
Join us for a fun friendly workshop in the relaxed environment of Leel Art Cafe in the heart of St Ives (but just a minutes walk from the Sloop Car park or 2 mins walk from the Island Car Park or Smeatons Pier parking)
In this workshop learn to make silver shells cast directly from nature. You will be guided through how to form, cut, texture, refine, sand and prepare the piece ready for the kiln, followed by the different stages of polishing your work to a professional finish. You will also have the option of using liver of sulphur to created oxidisation/ patinas to bring out detail should you choose.
Bring your own shell ( perhaps that your child has found)
The class includes all materials and enough silver to make two small pieces or one larger item allowing you to make either a pendant or earrings, then choose from a complimentary sterling silver necklace or leather or sterling silver earring findings.
During this experience enjoy speciality coffee, award winning hot chocolates, artisan slushies and range of teas and soft drinks from our adjacent cafe and you are also welcome to BYO if you are in the mood to celebrate- all work involving the kiln will be undertaken by the tutor as will the oxidisation of the pieces if you choose to add a patina.
Usually £89 which includes tuition, silver, chains or other findings a gift box and unlimited speciality refreshments.
